Promoting Criminal Justice for disadvantaged elderly, disadvantaged youth, battered women, disadvantaged minorities, indigent persons, discreet and insular minorities, racial or ethnic groups that have been historically powerless obtain power and acclaim, encourage development of racial and ethnic minorities in competent legal defense, promoting social development, career development and nationwide recognition of the need to compensate racial groups that have had ancestors suffer through slavery, or wrongful deprivations of their property or liberty interests and/or free will.
Promotion of the awareness of the race disparities in arrest and incarceration for drug-related offenses, protection of welfare and other government benefits of non-violent drug offenders, strict circumscription of asset forfeiture powers, elimination of the powder/crack sentencing disparity, and full legalization of all illicit drugs.
Meeting the need for greater awareness, support and dissemination of timely information that relates to current racial and ethnic minorities, affording the legal assistance in protection of Constitutional Rights, Civil Rights, and Equal Protection under the laws of the United States and the state of California.
Provide a practical program of law-related education aimed at engaging youth persons, through community supported broadcast system, including, but not necessarily limited to, radio broadcasting, television broadcasting, video, newspapers, newsletters, magazines, and all forms of the communicative arts, directed at persons between the ages of 13 to 21, in a critical examination of their rights and responsibilities. It involves law students, attorneys, law professors and judges in discussions surrounding practical legal problems, contemporary legal issues, and the ramifications of breaking the law. Develop and conduct street law educational programming to teach young people what their legal rights are when they face arrest or questioning, and to train law students to teach low-income, at-risk high school students their basic legal rights, responsibilities and resources.

To recognize that domestic violence is a pervasive and ongoing threat to the lives of many women and children. The center assists victims of domestic violence with family court matters through providing legal advocacy, and participating in educational and community service activities. Works in various ways to help women who are the victims of domestic violence., assist women at Family Court in getting orders of protection from their batterers, draft their complaints, answer any questions, and assist the women when they appear before the judge, study of the treatment of domestic violence victims by the court system, a hotline that victims of domestic violence can call for assistance, assist women in obtaining a divorce from their batterer
Committed to the abolition of the death penalty, helping local attorneys represent defendants who face the death penalty and raising awareness of the inherent fallacies and immorality of capital punishment. Promote adequate defense representation to capital defendants, appellants and death row inmates, and also organizing panels and symposia to educate the community about capital defense representation, capital prosecution, and criminal justice and jurisprudence.
Working for the release of imprisoned persons and other prisoners of conscience with legal concerns. This involves distributing human rights information in the community, schools, prisons, and other public forums, and coordinating the writing to government officials for the release of prisoners of conscience and to members of Congress for passage of laws supporting human rights.
